Cane Divan

The Cane Divan designed by Finnish professor Simo Heikkilä. Lensvelt’s first encounter with the Cane Divan was in Maarten Van Severen’s studio (Heikkilä’s good friend) and it was love at first sight. Lensvelt proclaims: “The combination of materials: rattan with an industrial green stainless steel frame, the unique and elegant composition… This chaise longue is not new, but certainly one of the most beautiful and most comfortable chaise lounges that I know.”

TIP: Indoor use is recommended and when you enjoy your Cane Divan outside just don’t forget to bring it inside for the night.

Simo Heikkilä

Simo Heikkilä is a well-established interior designer and interior architect with a fine reputation and a long list of awards. He is known as a designer, teacher and collaborator with a concern for dying craft skills. He has designed furniture from one-off pieces to complete ranges of industrially-produced furniture. Heikkilä’s uncluttered exhibition design has also attracted praise both in his hometown in Finland and internationally. He has extensive experience as a teacher and is currently head of the wood studio at the University of Art and Design Helsinki.  Heikkilä has given several workshops at the University of Industrial Arts in Helsinki together with his friend Maarten Van Severen.
