Commissioned by The Good Hospitality Group, the design agency Blooey designed the interior for two hotel boats together with Sikko Valk. The Good Hotel is a floating social pop-up hotel moored in the historic Royal Victoria Docks offering views over the river Thames and city of London. It moved there from Amsterdam where it stayed for one year while training 70 unemployed locals to find a job in the hospitality industry. The Good Hotel, which was totally re-purposed from a former detention center into a beautiful 144 room hotel, offers a premium hotel experience and the opportunity to do something back for the local community while traveling.
For the interior, Remko Verhaagen (Bloeey) and Sikko Valk combined functional Dutch designs classics with everyday design, creating a no-nonsense interior that feels warm and authentic. The boats were furnished with a number of recognisable Lensvelt products, including THIS Chair, Lensvelt 2000 Meeting Table, AVL Glyder Sofa and WH Gispen 301 & 302 Easy Chairs.
