The 101 chair designed by Maarten Baas for Lensvelt. The chairs are available in 8 differently shaped backrests, classified A to H. This chair was presented in 2017 at the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

Maarten Baas is one of the most influential Dutch designers of our time. Maarten Baas explores the boundaries between art and design with his work which is best known for it’s rebellious, playful, theatrical, artistic and often intellectual slant.

Story

Maarten Baas and Hans Lensvelt worked together to develop a collection of chairs with irregularly shaped backs. Through a clever technical application, the chairs each seem to have a character of their own, resembling a face. The collection was presented in Milan under the name "May I have your attention, please" and won the prestigious Milano Design Award, Best Concept 2017 during the Salone del Mobile.
