Interieurconcept i29
Furniture Lensvelt Contract Furniture

i29 created the interior design for all 518 hotel rooms, in collaboration with furniture label Lensvelt and textile designer Mae Engelgeer. The concept was to create a diversity of rooms where everything is about 'coming home', Comfort and tactility are central by using acoustically enhancing materials such as PET felt and textiles. Each room has a desk and the Felix 141 chair with a desk lamp, a comfortable bed with storage, a flexible hanging bedside table, a window sill with cushions, a pantry and a multifunctional wall.

The story of Hotel Casa in Amsterdam begins with four students and a mission. Casa was founded in the late 1950s with the aim of solving the housing shortage among students. By making rooms available to hotel guests on a seasonal basis, Casa is still able to offer students affordable accommodation today. This makes for a unique and inspiring mix of users.

Chair takes its name from Felix Meritis, Europe's oldest cultural building in Amsterdam, for which the chair was designed. The essence of the chair is built around comfort, recognising that people need to sit for longer periods of time. Moreover, the chair is designed for ease of use and is therefore stackable and therefore easy to store. The chair is also linkable so that when used in larger spaces, it can be placed neatly and evenly apart, providing cohesion. There are different versions of the upholstery because the Felix is not an ego but more of a team player: in a group arrangement, the backrests in two colours form one aesthetic whole; the boundary between 'individual' and 'group' thus literally and figuratively shifts.
